RIPPED RECORDS
Where
Every Record Is A New Release
RATHER
RIPPED RECORDS - a
REAL RECORD STORE at
Trader Jack's in Bridgeville, every Saturday and Sunday.
Well, here we are
in 2015, my 70th Birthday is approaching, then RATHER RIPPED RECORDS
44th Birthday in April. Stilll hawking vinyl and those little cd
babies at *TRADER JACK's Flea Market in Bridgeville (Pittsburgh
really) every Saturday and Sunday if you would like to drop by from 9
to 1 each day, often earlier... Besides being able to sell music from
all eras and styles in person, up close and personal, I still
occasionally reach out to the world through the ubiquitous internet
sites, RRR is on www.discogs.com,
bonanza.com,
and Amazon.com
with different items on each as we continue trying to update the
myriad lps, cds, 45s, DVDS, VintageTee Shirts, Flannel and Hawaiian
Shirts, books and posters that 64 years of collecting have spawned.
(oh yeah been buying 45s since 1950). Anyhow, if you find yourself in
the lovely burgh of Pitts, we invite you to drop in to the Flea
market inside building F as usual, every Saturday and Sunday and
check the goodies.
Besides the music
of the Cynics, Pittsburgh's premier psych rockers for 25 years, we
now carry the entire Get Hip Records label in vinyl. Cynics
guitarist, Gregg Kostelich, is also founder of Get Hip and presents
like minded music with cool colored vinyl, visuals and surprise items
packaged with the lps. And, Rather Ripped has them all. for sale on
the premises.
Flea Market hours
are 9:00 (8:00 when I haven't been out carousing Friday night to at
least 1:00 pm, often later. ....email is ratherrippedrecords@gmail.com
if you have any questions. Phone is 412-253-3445. If coming to
Pittsburgh, come on down to the flea market and say hello.
We take Visa,
Mastercharge, Discover and American Express.

Very nice articles
by Scott Mervis of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and one by Andy
Mulkerin of City got us off the ground running. Since then the lads
and lasses of Lawrenceville have been coming by to welcome us, say
hello and shop for bargains. After a holiday go round, we have
settled in quite nicely.
The East End's
BULLETIN MAGAZINE featured RATHER RIPPED on its cover and with a
great article inside from Wesley Davis and a picture of me on the
cover. Thank you very much, hope we can help the continued growth of
the Bloomfield, Garfield, Lawrenceville areas.
Scott's intro to
Rather Ripped in Lawrenceville....is at http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/ae/music/rather-ripped-records-gets-a-new-life-in-lawrenceville-664074/

.Our history starts in a small shoppe on Euclid Street
in Berkeley in April 1971, after our founder quit running Leopold's
Records (once the largest independent record store in California).
Joined by partners Richard who instituted the Dedicated
Fool Mail Order serving our soldiers in
Vietnam, as well as record lovers all over America, and David, a
retail clothing man, RatherRuss and team built a small haven for
music lovers in the early 70's, RATHER RIPPED RECORDS, when Berkeley
was cracking with Creedence, Joy of Cooking, Eddie Money, Alice
Stuart and so many more.....to be continued inside.

RATHER
RIPPED RECORDS was
built with eclectic music fans in mind, those who can listen
to Eric Tingstadt, and Pearl Jam or Tony Bennett, or Dr. Dre. Like
most of the world that thinks for itself, Ripped makes its own
choices and ignores the blatant overexposure of the same corporations
and political ideals over and over. We think that we and you are
becoming a vanishing breed. But not so fast. This is our tribute to
you and those like you.....Thanks for stopping by.
If you liked what you saw, please tell a
friend how to get here. |
